Ben Franklin TVC

Red Bull put out a global call for animations for America 250. We won with the rap telling the story of Ben Franklin that tested better than any Red Bull TVC in the last decade.

The New Yorker and Red Bull are the two most powerful wobbly line cartoon brands on Earth, so a collaboration between them was a natural fit.

John not only pitched this project, but also shepherded it through both Red Bull and The New Yorker getting buy in from both sides.

The final print ad instantly became one of the Crown Jewels of the Red Bull cartoon brand.

Key Visuals

The heart of the long running Red Bull cartoon campaign, these visuals live in OOH, digital, print, social, and anywhere else we can put them.
Each of these began with a sketch by John.

Engagements

Red Bull is an active brand, so they want to get their consumers active too. Here are a few ways John got people engaged.

Red Bull need more than just a distance challenge. The want to challenge the way you live.

That's why in the Red Bull Try-athlon, we're asking competitors to try something different.

3 different physical activities every week, for one month.

If you're normally a gear-head, we want to get you in the water.
If you're a run junky, the want you climbing some rocks.

With Red Bull Try-athlon, it's not where you're going. It's how you get there.

Some Fun Stuff

Double 3D Billboard!

Not only do I love these gifs, but they were a huge hit. The dancing can has 100 million views, dwarfing any other Red Bull gif.
